Experienced Excavator Operator – Civil & Drainage Experienced Excavator Operator? We want you behind the controls! We’re looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join a busy civil construction team working across South Auckland. You’ll need a minimum of 4 years’ excavator operating experience, with the ability to confidently operate machines ranging from 1.5 tonne through to 30 tonne. Drainage experience is a bonus, but it’s not essential. What matters most is that you’re keen to learn, have a great attitude, and genuinely want to be part of a hardworking drainage and earthworks team. If you’ve got the operating experience and are willing to learn the drainage side of the work, we want to hear from you. Our client has a genuine muck-in, get-stuck-in culture. While operating the excavator will be a big part of your day, this isn't a role where you'll sit in the cab from start to finish. When the crew needs a hand, you'll be expected to jump out, get involved on the ground and support the team wherever needed. You’ll be working across various sites throughout South Auckland, so you’ll need to be comfortable travelling between projects and getting stuck into whatever the day brings. What you'll be doing Operating excavators ranging from 1.5 tonne to 30 tonne Trenching and excavation Assisting with drainage works and pipe laying Bedding and backfilling General earthworks and site preparation Working around existing services Assisting the crew on the ground when required Learning and developing your drainage skills Helping keep sites safe, tidy and running efficiently We're looking for someone who: Has a minimum of 4 years' excavator operating experience Is confident operating excavators from 1.5 to 30 tonne Has civil construction or earthworks experience Drainage experience is a bonus, but not essential Is willing and keen to learn drainage and earthworks Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work Is physically fit and happy to work both in and out of the machine Is reliable, safety-focused and a good communicator Works well as part of a team Is willing to travel to different sites throughout South Auckland Tickets & Licences Ideally, you'll have: Full Class 1 Driver Licence WTR endorsement Class 2 Licence – an advantage Construct Safe or Site Safe Confined Space Lifting & Slinging – bonus, but not essential Who Are We?
