About us Megabyte is not your typical IT company. Our team are fuelled by the common goal to support our clients with IT support services in a way that is expert, responsive, and thoroughly human. We work with a wide range of clients across Aotearoa, New Zealand, who rely on us to keep their systems up and running, secure, and fit for purpose. About the role This is a fixed-term 12-month maternity cover position that offers the chance to become part of the Megabyte team, build your skills, and gain exposure to finance, administration, and wider business operations. We're on the hunt for an organised, proactive Finance & Administration Coordinator to help keep the wheels turning behind the scenes at Megabyte. This is a varied role that combines finance administration with general business support. One minute you could be reconciling accounts, processing invoices, or chasing up debtor queries, and the next you're helping coordinate client reporting, supporting a project, or keeping office operations running smoothly. No two days are quite the same, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, works methodically, and takes pride in getting the details right On a typical week, you might: Prepare and send client invoices Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and maintain records in Xero Complete bank and credit card reconciliations Maintain client records and business documentation Support client reporting and contract administration Coordinate office resources, supplies, and general administration Assist with month-end finance processes Why you’ll enjoy this role A genuinely varied position where you'll have your hands in finance, administration, and operations Plenty of opportunity to learn new skills and grow your experience across different areas of the business A supportive, down-to-earth team that enjoys working hard, helping each other out, and having a laugh along the way The chance to make a real contribution in a business where your work is seen, valued, and appreciated Flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to take ownership of your work About you You're the sort of person who gets satisfaction from a job well done and enjoys ticking things off a list. You also enjoy keeping busy and know how to stay organised when there's plenty on the go. We're open-minded about the experience and skill level the right person may bring. You might have a background in finance, accounts administration, bookkeeping, business support, coordination, or customer service, and be keen to grow your finance skills. The role offers plenty of variety and opportunities to learn. More importantly, we're looking for someone who is dependable, adaptable, and comfortable taking responsibility for their work. You'll take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work, bring a proactive approach to problem-solving, and be willing to help where needed. Accuracy, initiative, professionalism, and a positive attitude are just as important as previous experience. You'll also bring: Strong administration and organisational skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Confidence using business systems and learning new software Great communication skills and a friendly, professional approach The ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball High levels of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information Experience with invoicing, reconciliations, debtor management, Xero, or other accounting systems would be a bonus. Most importantly, you'll enjoy being part of a team, contributing wherever needed, and bringing positive energy (and hopefully a sense of humour) to work each day. If you're someone who likes variety and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves, we'd love to hear from you. What we offer Our team are sporty and social, and we genuinely love what we do. We work hard, but our exceptional culture makes it fun to come to work each day. From the occasional culinary competition or the odd game of foosball, we make time to connect, celebrate wins, and have a bit of fun along the way. We offer a 37.5 hour week, flexible working, and a generous wellness benefit. If you have the skills and qualities we're looking for and enjoy working in a nimble, fun, and fast-paced environment, it's likely you'll love it here at Megabyte. Please apply now with your CV and a cover letter telling us why you'd be a fantastic addition to our team. Applications close 26th August 2026.
