Learning Support Officers, BlendED National Hobart, Tasmania Ongoing – 0.8 FTE – Term time only Commencing ASAP About us BlendED National is a new and exciting initiative of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA), providing flexible, inclusive education for young people across the country who are unable to access traditional schooling. Delivered online by a multidisciplinary team, BlendED National supports young people through trauma-informed, relationship-based learning that prioritises safety, connection, and individualised support. The program is designed to meet the needs of young people experiencing complex barriers to education, and is grounded in EREA’s commitment to educational equity and radical inclusion. Our Young People Young people come from diverse backgrounds and often face a significant and complex range of educational, social, developmental, environmental, psychological, health, legal barriers to learning which require unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation By Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices. We recognise that each young person’s journey is unique. Our Team BlendED National operates as a registered Catholic school in Hobart, Tasmania, supported by a dedicated local team. Led by a Principal and Program Directors, qualified Teachers and Youth Workers work collaboratively to deliver a structured, teacher‑led secondary program, integrating curriculum‑aligned learning with pastoral care and wellbeing support for young people across the state. The Role We are seeking a Learning Support Officers (LSO) to join our team in Hobart . The role of an LSO plays a vital role in supporting and strengthening young people’s engagement in learning, working closely and collaboratively with Teachers and other staff. Employment: Ongoing contract, 0.8 FTE – term time only Commencement: ASAP Salary: This role is classified under the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024. The salary will fall within the School Support Employee classification range level 2 or 3, with the salary range being indicative of $68,586 - $84,666 (pro rata, paid 40 weeks per year), commensurate with the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications. You will need Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty Qualifications in Cert III/IV School Based Education or similar Hold a valid Working with Vulnerable People check or have the ability to obtain, and a National Police Check certificate (issued within the last six months), or hold current Teaching registration. Previous experience relevant to supporting and/or leading an organisations commitment to being a child safe organisation. The ability to inspire and engage young people.
