Experienced / Qualified Drainlayer ARCO Group Ltd | Whangarei, Northland Full-time | Permanent Position Join the ARCO Group Team ARCO Group is looking for an experienced and/or qualified Drainlayer to join our growing civil construction team in Whangārei. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well as part of a team, and can confidently deliver drainage works across a range of commercial, civil and development projects. We are looking for someone who knows the trade, understands the importance of getting the job done right the first time, and wants to be part of a professional and well-established construction company. The Role Working as part of our civil and drainage team, your responsibilities will include: · Installation of stormwater and wastewater drainage systems · Laying and connecting drainage pipes, manholes, cesspits and associated infrastructure · Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications · Setting out drainage works, levels and falls · Trenching, bedding, backfilling and preparation for drainage installations · Carrying out testing and inspections of completed drainage works · Working around existing underground services · Coordinating with machine operators, site managers and other trades · Ensuring work is completed to the required quality and compliance standards · Maintaining a safe, tidy and productive worksite · Assisting with other civil works when required What We're Looking For Ideally, you will have: · A New Zealand Drainlaying qualification and/or current drainlaying registration · Alternatively, significant practical drainlaying experience · Strong experience with commercial and civil drainage projects · Good knowledge of stormwater and wastewater systems · The ability to read construction plans and establish levels · Experience working with excavators and other civil construction equipment · A strong understanding of health and safety requirements · A current NZ driver's licence · Good communication skills and a positive attitude · The ability to work independently as well as part of a team · A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail Experience operating excavators and other civil machinery would be a strong advantage.
