Job Purpose The Senior Accounting Officer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, monthly reporting, and some administrative functions since the pre-opening and launch phases of SGIS. This role serves as the critical technical bridge between the Bangkok operations and the regional finance headquarters, ensuring all local transactions are compliant, recorded, and reported accurately. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Management & Reporting Monthly Closing: Perform full-cycle monthly accounting closures, ensuring all local expenses, accruals, and prepayments are recorded according to group standards. Regional Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the Finance team; providing necessary documentation, clarifying local transactions, and aligning on reporting timelines. Tax Compliance: Manage and file monthly Thai tax submissions (WHT – PND 1, 3, 53, and VAT – PP 30). Payroll & Benefits: Coordinate with the HR Manager to process monthly payroll, including Social Security (SSO) and tax deductions for staff. Budget Tracking: Monitor pre-opening CAPEX and OPEX spending against the established budget, flagging variances to leadership. 2. Treasury & Cash Management Petty Cash: Oversee the office petty cash system, ensuring strict documentation and replenishment protocols. Banking: Manage local bank account activities, including transfers, bill payments, and bank reconciliations. Vendor Management: Handle accounts payable, ensuring vendors and contractors (including construction-related payments) are paid on time and receipts are filed. 3. General Administration & Operations Office Management: Ensure the smooth running of the Admissions/Corporate office, including procurement of supplies and managing facility maintenance. Document Control: Maintain a rigorous digital and physical filing system for all legal, financial, and corporate contracts. Ad-hoc Support: Assist the leadership team with administrative tasks related to school licensing, construction permits, and government liaisons. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations. Experience in a school setting or a "pre-opening" startup environment is a significant plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills. Language: Professional fluency in English (Written and Spoken) is mandatory for effective communication. Mindset: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Holding a CPD is a plus.
