Job title: Tax Senior Associate Salary Range: RM 5,000.00 to RM 6,500.00 About the Role We are looking for an experienced and proactive Tax Senior Associate to join our growing Tax Department. This role is suitable for an individual who is able to independently manage a portfolio of clients while taking responsibility for the progress and quality of assigned tax matters. Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage, particularly when dealing with Mandarin-speaking clients. The successful candidate will also be expected to lead, supervise and guide junior team members , ensuring that assignments, outstanding documents, LHDN matters and follow-up actions are properly monitored and completed on time. You will work closely with the Tax Manager/Partner and gain exposure to tax compliance, tax audits, investigations, advisory assignments and other tax-related projects. Key Responsibilities Tax & Client Portfolio Management Independently manage a portfolio of corporate and individual tax clients. Prepare and review tax computations, tax returns, CP204/CP204A and supporting schedules. Monitor submission deadlines, outstanding client documents and pending LHDN matters . Proactively follow up with clients and ensure outstanding matters are followed through to completion. Handle routine LHDN queries, tax audits and client correspondence independently. Identify delays, compliance risks and unresolved matters, and escalate complex issues to the Tax Manager/Partner. Support tax planning, advisory, audits, investigations and special tax assignments . Maintain proper tax working papers and documentation. Team Leadership & Review Lead, supervise and guide junior Tax Associates in their daily assignments. Allocate work and monitor team progress, priorities and deadlines. Review tax computations, returns and supporting documents prepared by junior staff. Ensure juniors proactively follow up on assigned jobs, client documents and LHDN matters . Coach juniors to improve their technical knowledge, work quality and client-handling skills. Support the Tax Manager/Partner in managing team workload, portfolios and deliverables. Client & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain professional relationships with clients. Communicate clearly on outstanding requirements, deadlines and tax matters. Liaise with LHDN and relevant authorities on behalf of clients. Manage routine client queries independently and escalate complex matters when required. Keep the Tax Manager/Partner updated on significant issues, delays and risks. What We're Looking For Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field. Minimum 3 years of Malaysian taxation experience , preferably in an accounting, audit or tax firm. Hands-on experience in tax computations, tax returns, CP204/CP204A and LHDN matters . Experience reviewing or supervising junior staff is preferred. Strong ownership, follow-up and problem-solving skills . Able to independently manage multiple client portfolios and deadlines. Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia ; Mandarin is an added advantage. ACCA, CPA, CTIM or equivalent is an added advantage. Proactive, organised and able to work with minimal supervision.
