We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead our finance function and help drive the next stage of our success. This is a management team role that offers the opportunity to influence strategy, support operational excellence, and partner closely with the management team. About the Role Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, the Financial Controller will be responsible for leading all aspects of the dealership's financial operations while providing strategic financial guidance to the business. Key responsibilities include: Leading the month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting processes Preparing timely and accurate financial statements and management reports Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning Monitoring dealership profitability and key performance indicators Maintaining robust financial controls and compliance procedures Overseeing general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset management Managing banking relationships and treasury functions Coordinating annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements Providing financial analysis and commercial insights to support business decisions Leading and developing the finance team Driving process improvements and business efficiency initiatives Partnering with departmental managers to improve operational and financial performance About You We're looking for a high-performing finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen. You will ideally have: Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) qualification or equivalent Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior accounting leadership role Strong financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting experience Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills Experience leading and developing finance teams Advanced systems and Excel capability Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy A proactive, hands-on leadership style Experience in the automotive, retail, or multi-departmental business environment would be highly regarded.
