Business Development Manager - Trade & Supply Chain Finance About You You're a self-starter who thrives in a flat, fast-paced environment You enjoy purpose-led work: helping SMEs and enterprises access Purchase Order and Inventory Financing to grow their business You're resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, and solution-driven You prioritize team success over ego and aren't afraid of hands-on client work You bounce back from setbacks and see every "no" as one step closer to "yes" Key Responsibilities Client Development & Relationship Management Identify and develop new corporate clients, with a strong focus on the electronics and semi-conductors industry, as well as commodities, FMCG, and 3C categories Target businesses that need Purchase Order Financing (to fulfill large buyer orders) and Inventory Financing (to optimize stock levels without cash strain) Manage high-quality channel resources (industry associations, trade shows, cross-border e-commerce seller groups, semi-conductor supply chain networks, distributors) Conduct preliminary due diligence and ensure a seamless client onboarding experience Maintain long-term client trust through proactive after-sales service Business Expansion & Product Specialization Educate prospects on how PO Financing works: funding based on confirmed purchase orders from creditworthy buyers Structure Inventory Financing solutions for clients holding high-value electronics/components, finished goods, or raw materials Deeply understand client business models (OEMs, distributors, contract manufacturers, brands) to match the right product—PO financing for order fulfillment, inventory financing for stock optimization Collaborate with trade associations, logistics providers, and electronics/semi-conductor distributors to expand customer acquisition channels Product & Market Feedback Relay real client needs, pain points, and market trends—especially around order cycles, inventory turnover, and collateral valuation in electronics/semi-conductors—to internal product and risk teams Help shape underwriting criteria based on industry feedback (e.g., component obsolescence risk, buyer creditworthiness, inventory aging) Project & Pipeline Management Independently manage complex sales cycles and project follow-ups Track KPIs, deal stages, and revenue targets Team Collaboration Work closely with operations, risk, and product teams to ensure business objectives are met Mentor junior team members as the team scales Key Competencies Skills & Knowledge Deep understanding of Purchase Order Financing and Inventory Financing mechanics (e.g., eligibility, collateral, advance rates, repayment from buyer payments or inventory liquidation) Familiar with risk control models for asset-backed lending (AML/KYC basics preferred) Strong client development, negotiation, and presentation skills Ability to explain financing structures to SME owners and financial decision-makers in simple, compelling terms Knowledge of electronics & semi-conductor trade cycles, payment terms, inventory valuation, and obsolescence risk is a strong advantage Personal Qualities Highly self-motivated, resilient, and goal-oriented Strong team spirit with low ego Comfortable working under pressure and in ambiguous early-growth phase environments Qualifications Education Degree or above in Finance, Trade, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field Experience 3–5+ years in B2B client-facing roles within: Trade finance, asset-backed lending, PO financing, or inventory financing Supply chain finance / factoring Cross-border e-commerce financing Corporate finance services or foreign trade B2B Electronics or semi-conductor distribution, manufacturing, or trading (highly preferred) Proven track record in selling PO financing or inventory financing products or similar working capital solutions Deep familiarity with electronics and semi-conductor supply chains (distributors, OEMs, component suppliers, contract manufacturers) and their financing pain points Existing client or channel resources in the electronics/semi-conductor industry is a strong differentiator Language Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin required; Cantonese a plus) Attractive remuneration package and excellent career development opportunities will be offered to the successful candidate.
