About the role PT Bio Inti Agrindo is seeking an Agronomy Assistant to join our viticulture operations in South Papua. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our vineyard management and agricultural development initiatives. As an Agronomy Assistant, you will work closely with our senior agronomists to ensure optimal grape quality, vine health, and sustainable farming practices across our vineyard operations. This role is essential to maintaining the quality standards that define our wine production and contributes directly to the success of our growing agricultural business in the region. Key responsibilities Conduct regular field inspections and monitoring of vineyard health, vine growth, and crop development throughout the growing season Assist in the implementation of pest and disease management programmes, including identifying and reporting any infestations or abnormalities Support soil and plant tissue sampling activities and assist in maintaining accurate records of agronomic data Help implement and monitor irrigation schedules to ensure optimal water management for vine growth and grape quality Assist with pruning, training, and canopy management activities according to established protocols Support the application of fertilisers, fungicides, and other agricultural inputs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards Maintain detailed records of all field activities, treatments, and observations for analysis and reporting Collaborate with the agronomy team to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of best practice procedures Provide support during harvest preparations and assessments of grape maturity and quality Ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety regulations on the vineyard What we're looking for Qualification in agriculture, viticulture, horticulture, or a related field from a recognised institution Knowledge of Oil palm plantation management practices, including pruning, canopy management, and irrigation techniques Understanding of pest and disease identification and management in grape production Familiarity with soil science and plant nutrition principles Strong observational skills and attention to detail when conducting field assessments Proficiency in using basic agricultural equipment and tools Ability to accurately record and report agronomic data Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team Willingness to learn and develop agronomic expertise in the viticulture industry Experience with vineyard operations in tropical or subtropical climates is preferred Fluency in Indonesian and English is highly desirable What we offer At PT Bio Inti Agrindo, we are committed to supporting the professional development and wellbeing of our team members.
