About the role Build and lead a world-class quality management system aligned with international automotive standards and customer requirements. Drive the shift to preventive quality management, accelerate digital quality transformation, and lead continuous quality capability evolution across the plant. Based in Thailand; provide project-based support to domestic and overseas manufacturing facilities. Key responsibilities Quality Strategy & System Construction Formulate plant-level quality strategy, roadmap, and annual quality objectives aligned with GWM global standards. Design, build, and continuously optimize a full-value-chain quality management system covering R&D, incoming quality, manufacturing process, supply chain, and after-sales service. Ensure full compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, customer-specific requirements, and Thailand local regulatory standards. Data-Driven Quality Management & Cost Optimization Establish quality data analysis frameworks, performance dashboards, and key quality indicator systems. Lead quality cost analysis and quality economics research; identify and eliminate hidden quality losses. Provide data-backed strategic recommendations to senior leadership; drive evidence-based quality decision-making. Optimize total quality cost structure and reduce cost of poor quality across the plant. Manufacturing Process Quality Control Oversee end-to-end manufacturing quality control; lead process quality assurance across production lines. Lead formulation, review, and continuous improvement of quality standards, inspection specifications, and operating procedures. Deeply deploy SPC, MSA, FMEA, and other advanced statistical quality tools; drive application across key processes. Lead pursuit of zero-defect manufacturing; systematically reduce process defects and field failures. Quality Culture & Capability Transformation Lead organizational transformation from reactive to preventive quality management. Champion quality-first culture across all functions; raise total quality awareness and ownership. Embed quality principles into every business process and decision-making link. Establish clear cross-functional quality accountability and coordination mechanisms. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Promote standardization, mistake-proofing, and digital quality solutions across operations. Research and pilot AI, advanced analytics, and digital-twin technologies in quality inspection, predictive maintenance, and root-cause analysis. Lead quality innovation projects and organizational learning; build self-improving quality capability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or above in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields Minimum 20 years of progressive quality management experience in automotive or high-end equipment manufacturing At least 5 years in a Quality Director, Head of Quality, or equivalent senior expert leadership role at a large-scale manufacturing enterprise Mastery of automotive quality management systems, standards, and tools: IATF 16949, VDA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP Six Sigma Black Belt, IATF 16949 Lead Auditor, or VDA-certified auditor is highly preferred Outstanding strategic thinking and capability to translate business goals into quality strategies Exceptional cross-functional, cross-cultural communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills Strong leadership: capable of guiding, inspiring, and developing high-performance teams Superior data analysis, logical reasoning, and systematic root-cause problem-solving abilities Proven capability to independently handle major quality crises, critical incidents, and customer quality disputes Preferred Background: Candidates with Japanese or Korean automotive quality experience & system design expertise are highly welcomed. Deep knowledge of Japanese/Korean manufacturing excellence, quality philosophies, standards, and operational practices will be a strong advantage.
