Responsibilities Design, develop and deliver high-performance, scalable and reliable software systems that support critical business needs Translate complex business requirements into clean, efficient and maintainable code Conduct unit testing and collaborate on technical design to ensure system quality and stability Troubleshoot production issues, conduct performance tuning, and drive continuous system improvements and refactoring Uphold engineering best practices and contribute to raising the overall standard of our development processes Requirements Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience (Fresh graduates or candidates with less experience are also welcome to apply and will be considered for a Junior position) Solid understanding of SDLC and GitFlow Hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot / Go Proficient in SQL; working knowledge of Redis Familiarity with microservices / event-driven architecture is a plus Self-motivated, strong communicator, and able to work independently Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin (spoken and written) Immediate availability is highly preferred

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
