RESPONSIBILITIES (SUMMARY) Responsible in identifying, evaluating and steering potential Bumiputera companies for TERAJU support to drive business expansion and excellence within the Capital Market . JOB DESCRIPTION Business Excellence Collaborates with external collaborative partners / stakeholders within the Capital Market ecosystem in identifying potential Bumiputera businesses and preparing them for strategic expansion and scale up and ready to compete in more dynamic markets. Lead the initiative with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data, create compelling content, and facilitate timely approval. Ensures seamless cross-departmental collaboration and effective fulfillment of duties, fostering strong communication and alignment between teams to achieve organizational objectives efficiently. Leads the proposal development process for approval committees, ensuring comprehensive, well-structured submissions that align with organizational goals and strategic priorities. Provides comprehensive management reports on operational activities, costs, marketing, and KPIs periodically (fortnightly, monthly, quarterly). Marketing & Advisory To approach and maintain rapport with project sources/originators such as merchant banks and consultants as well as various SMEs. To attend to companies over the telephone, on a walk-in basis as well as in exhibitions participated by TERAJU. To provide companies with information on TERAJU programmes Policies and Guidelines and to advise them on how to tailor and structure their respective proposals to meet the requirements set out in TERAJU programmes Policies and Guidelines. Develop, produce, implement and improve the policy and framework. Project Evaluation. Evaluate Project Proposals Conduct thorough and timely assessments of project proposals, including meetings with entrepreneurs, site visits, and reviewing business viability and financial performance. Advise & Support Entrepreneurs Provide guidance on structuring investment proposals in line with TERAJU's policies and assist entrepreneurs in aligning their submissions with programme requirements. Reporting & Recommendations Prepare and present evaluation papers or justifications for rejection to Management, the Investment Panel, or Board of Directors based on compliance and strategic fit. Administration Prepare and compile monthly management reports for review by the Senior Director and Director before presentation to the management committee. Supervise staff in maintaining proper filing and safekeeping of all relevant correspondences and documents under their responsibility. Ensure all department staff adhere to company-prescribed office regulations. REQUIREMENTS Vast experience in leading and managing Bumiputera initiatives, with strong background in investment, equity financing, or capital markets, with hands-on experience in evaluating and managing investment proposals. Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic business development or investment-related roles, preferably in investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance , including at least 3 years in a senior management position. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or professional qualifications from a recognised university/institution. MBA or CFA will be an added advantage . Possesses exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to guide and motivate teams towards achieving their goals. Strong at setting clear objectives, fostering collaboration, and inspiring a high level of performance. Skilled in assessing business viability, financial performance, and structuring investment deals. Experience in related industries/economic sectors or Consultancy work e.g., project management, advisory, corporate planning and strategy Able to influence, engage and articulate views and ideas clearly with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
