About the Role This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone with experience on a farm or operating machinery in a farming, civil, or landscaping environment who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively. The work is on a private farm approximately 50kms from Brisbane. You’ll work primarily outdoors in the heat, dust, rain, mud or whatever conditions are thrown your way. Some days are physically demanding and may involve long hours, so you’ll need resilience, a strong work ethic and the determination to see the job through. No two days are the same, and everyone pitches in where needed. Key Responsibilities: General farm / station hand duties, including daily animal husbandry. Drive and operate farm vehicles and machinery including trucks, tractors, loaders. Daily machine pre-starts and basic maintenance. Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair the farm's infrastructure eg. sheds, fences, access roads. Regular slashing, spraying and watering. Follow job schedules, safety procedures, and quality standards. Stock handling and procurement of supplies. Basic plumbing such as fixing taps and troughs. Weed and pest control. Basic irrigation installation, maintenance or repair as required. What we are looking for We’re looking for someone who is: Reliable, punctual and ready to work each day. Honest, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Practical, uses common sense and has a willingness to learn. Physically fit and capable of manual work in remote outdoor conditions. Takes pride in completing work to a high standard. Treats livestock, machinery and fellow team members with respect. You’ll be required to have: Current unrestricted driver’s license. Experience and knowledge of farming and animal husbandry. Experience operating machinery in a farming, civil, or landscaping environment. Safety-first mindset and attention to detail. Your own vehicle to travel between rural farm locations. Mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills. Own judgement to work unsupervised.
