About the role You will work with experienced data professionals to build and maintain data pipelines, integrate data from different business systems, improve data quality, and prepare trusted datasets for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases. Key responsibilities Develop, maintain, and monitor data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple source systems. Assist in integrating data from databases, APIs, operational systems, files, and other data sources. Build and maintain structured datasets and data models for reporting and analytics. Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis. Support the development of ETL/ELT workflows and automated data processing. Perform data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks. Investigate data issues and work with business and technical teams to identify root causes. Assist in maintaining data warehouse, data lake, or other data platform environments. Develop technical documentation including data mappings, pipeline logic, data dictionaries, and operating procedures. Support dashboard, analytics, and data analyst teams by providing reliable and well-structured datasets. About you Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
