As part of our commitment to the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme, we are seeking a compassionate, organised and proactive Worker Welfare & Wellbeing Officer to support the health, wellbeing and successful integration of our PALM Scheme workers. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys helping people, building relationships and creating positive outcomes for workers living and working away from home. About the Role As the Worker Welfare & Wellbeing Officer, you will be one of the key point of contact for worker welfare, wellbeing and pastoral care matters. You will work closely with workers, supervisors, accommodation providers, healthcare professionals and community organisations. This role requires a highly visible presence across worker accommodation and farm locations and includes participation in an after-hours support roster. Key Responsibilities Worker Welfare & Wellbeing Conduct regular welfare and wellbeing checks with workers. Provide practical, emotional and pastoral support. Assist workers to access health, banking, telecommunications and community services. Support workers experiencing homesickness, personal challenges or cultural adjustment issues. Promote positive wellbeing, social connection and inclusion. Respond appropriately to worker crises and critical incidents. Facilitate referrals to professional health and support services where required. Support a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all workers. Maintain accurate welfare records and case notes. Assist with welfare reporting, incident management and PALM Scheme compliance requirements. Accommodation Support Conduct regular accommodation inspections. Coordinate maintenance requests and accommodation improvements. Support worker arrivals, departures and orientation activities. Assist in maintaining high accommodation standards. Community & Cultural Engagement Promote social inclusion and positive engagement within the local community. Assist workers with financial literacy and understanding Australian systems and services. Team Leadership Coordinate and support a small team of accommodation cleaners. Assist with work allocation, scheduling and quality standards. Monitor accommodation cleanliness and presentation standards. Technology & Digital Support Assist workers to access digital services and online platforms. Maintain confidence and privacy when assisting workers with technology-related matters. About You We are looking for someone who is: Compassionate, patient and people-focused Highly organised and able to work autonomously Comfortable supporting people from diverse cultural backgrounds A strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills Calm and effective when managing sensitive situations Adaptable and willing to assist outside normal business hours when required Essential Requirements Current Driver's Licence Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain) Desirable Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams Ability to maintain confidential records and documentation Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience within the PALM Scheme or similar workforce programs Experience supporting culturally diverse communities Why Join Hillwood Berries?
