Executive Officer (Industrial Liaison) in the Knowledge Transfer Office [Ref. R/154/26] City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is a globally recognised top research university. The Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) bridges CityUHK’s world-class research with industry. Reporting directly to the Assistant/Associate Director of KTO, this role supports Hong Kong’s “AI+” and re-industrialisation initiatives, as well as Greater Bay Area (GBA) opportunities. We seek a proactive, scientifically grounded professional to drive industrial liaison, technology promotion, and commercialisation. Duties Engage in in-depth discussions with CityUHK researchers in Artificial Intelligence, new materials, and new energy storage, and understand their industrial applications; Track industry trends and needs in AI, advanced materials, and new energy storage; Leverage Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem (Science Park, Cyberport, InnoHK, ITF, HKTech 300) to identify international, Chinese Mainland, and GBA industrial challenges, then match them with CityUHK Intellectual property/technologies; Actively promote and market CityUHK’s technologies and intellectual property to industry partners; Build networks and uncover collaboration opportunities through company visits, events, and channels such as industry associations and exhibitions; Collaborate with KTO teams to organise industry engagement activities, seminars, and networking events; and Perform other administrative duties assigned. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or above in Science/Engineering/Materials Science/Energy/AI, or related fields; Proven ability to build strong networks with GBA, Chinese Mainland, and international industry partners; Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills; Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua preferred), with willingness and ability to travel frequently for company visits, industry events, and cross-border engagements; Proactive, self-motivated, and a strong team player; and Familiarity with Hong Kong’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and relevant policies is highly desirable. Experience working in Hong Kong’s innovation environment or in technology transfer/commercialisation and Knowledge of target industries (AI, new materials, new energy storage, Electronic Engineering) is preferred.
