Location: RSU Tower Bangkok, Thailand Get To Know Us: About SS&C Technologies SS&C is a leading provider of mission-critical, AI-powered technology and services empowering financial services and healthcare organizations to work smarter, faster, and securely. Founded in 1986, SS&C is headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut, and has offices worldwide. More than 23,000 financial services and healthcare organizations, from the world's largest companies to small and mid-market firms, rely on SS&C for expertise, scale, and technology. What is the opportunity? We are looking for an experienced Software Release Manager to own the release process for all software releases of our Transfer Agency platforms within GIDS APAC Asset Services Engineering. These are large, complex enterprise platforms made up of many versioned products, components and services that are deployed together into shared environments, often with integrations to third-party and other externally managed products across SS&C. This is a key role in enabling us to deliver software reliably, predictably and safely at scale. It is both a technical and non-technical role, but leans towards coordination, communication and stakeholder engagement – bringing order and confidence to how we plan, sequence and ship releases across many moving parts. You will join a friendly and collaborative team that values mutual respect, continuous learning and a supportive, well-balanced working environment. As Software Release Manager you will own the release calendar, manage dependencies and conflicts across teams, and take accountability for the quality of our release procedures, release notes and version management. You will work closely with engineering teams on release planning and automation, and you will be a driving force behind simplifying our environments and versioning so that releases become smoother and lower-risk over time. You will lead this work largely through influence – through trust, clear communication, strong facilitation and a collaborative approach – rather than direct authority over the teams involved. AI is central to how we work. This is a big job, and using AI is essential to doing it well. You will bring AI tooling into every part of your day – planning, coordination, release notes, risk analysis, version mapping and stakeholder communication – and you will continually look for new ways to let AI carry the load so you can focus on judgement and engagement. Why You Will Love It Here! Flexibility: Hybrid work model (6 days in the SS&C office per month) and a business casual dress code, including jeans. Centralized location—a 6-minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS station or a 10-minute walk from Sukhumvit MRT station. Your Wellbeing: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Annual Health Check-Up, Employee Assistance Program, Parental Leave, Well-Stocked Pantry, and Provident Fund Contribution Diversity & Inclusion: Committed to Welcoming, Celebrating, and Thriving on Diversity Extra Perks: Bonus Scheme, SS&C Stock(s) Allocation for eligible employees What You Will Get To Do: Key accountabilities Own the release process – take end-to-end ownership of the release process for all Transfer Agency platform software releases, from planning through to deployment and post-release review. Own the release calendar – maintain a clear, forward-looking release calendar and coordinate release windows across multiple teams, platforms and time zones. Manage dependencies and conflicts – identify, sequence and resolve dependencies and conflicts between releases so that changes land safely and in the right order. Safeguard version integrity – perform version management across all environments, manage the sequencing of upgrades and maintain the version dependency mapping so that environments never end up with conflicting versions. Own release procedures – be accountable for the quality of release procedures, ensuring they are complete, reviewed and correct, even where others are the authors. Own release notes – own the creation and distribution of clear, accurate release notes for each release. Drive simplification – lead the drive towards simpler environments and versioning, reducing complexity and risk over time. Advance release automation – work with engineering teams to strengthen continuous delivery pipelines and release automation. Champion AI-powered ways of working – leverage AI across the role to plan, coordinate, document and communicate, and encourage its adoption to lift the pace and quality of releases. Role responsibilities Release planning & coordination Own and maintain the release calendar across the Transfer Agency platforms, coordinating release windows, freezes and blackout periods. Work with engineering teams on release planning – defining scope, readiness criteria and sequencing for each release. Identify and manage cross-team and cross-platform dependencies and conflicts, sequencing releases to avoid collisions. Coordinate upgrades that involve integrations with third-party or externally managed products within SS&C – for example where API connections exist between the platform environment and another managed product. Facilitate release readiness reviews and go/no-go decisions with the relevant stakeholders. Version & environment management Perform version management across all environments and manage the sequencing of version upgrades. Maintain the version dependency mapping and actively prevent conflicting versions from being introduced into any environment. Drive the simplification of environments and versioning to reduce complexity, cost and risk. Maintain clear traceability from build to environment so the state of every environment is always known. Procedures, release notes & documentation Be accountable for the quality of release procedures – ensuring they are authored, reviewed and correct, without necessarily being the subject-matter expert who writes them. Own the creation and distribution of release notes for every release. Maintain accurate, up-to-date release documentation and runbooks as a single source of truth for release state. Release automation & continuous delivery Partner with engineering teams to design, build and improve continuous delivery pipelines and release automation. Encode approval gates, promotion and validation into pipelines to make releases more repeatable and lower-risk. Apply sound CD fundamentals – artifact and version management, environment promotion, and progressive deployment and rollback strategies such as blue-green, canary and rolling releases – to raise release quality. Champion reproducible, identifiable releases – so that every environment's contents can be traced to a known build, and older releases can be reliably rebuilt. Stakeholder management & communication Act as the central point of contact for release status, providing clear, business-level communication to stakeholders at all levels. Work closely with Delivery Managers and the IT Service Delivery Lead to align releases with delivery and service commitments. Manage expectations on timing, sequencing and risk, discussing and agreeing priorities together where needed. Support client-facing communication where required, typically through the IT Service Delivery Lead. AI-powered ways of working Use AI extensively to plan, coordinate, generate release notes, map version dependencies, assess release risk, and draft stakeholder communications. Encourage the adoption of AI tooling across the teams involved in releases to improve pace and quality. Stay current with emerging AI release-management practices and role-model their responsible, effective use. Risk & continuous improvement Identify release risks early and work with teams to shape and carry out mitigation and rollback plans. Run post-release reviews and use delivery metrics – such as the DORA measures (deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate and time to restore service) – to drive steady improvement in predictability, quality and pace, using them to improve the process rather than to compare individuals or teams. What You Will Bring: Skills and competencies Release management expertise – strong background owning software releases in large, complex enterprise environments made up of many versioned components and services. Continuous delivery knowledge – deep, practical knowledge of CD fundamentals is required, including continuous integration, artifact versioning, environment promotion, and progressive deployment and rollback strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling); hands-on experience designing and building continuous delivery pipelines is highly desirable. Tooling – experience with release and deployment tooling such as GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy; experience with any comparable CI/CD platform is valued alongside strong CD fundamentals. Version & dependency management – proven ability to manage versioning across multiple environments, sequence upgrades and maintain a clear dependency map that prevents conflicts. Coordination & organisation – able to juggle many parallel workstreams with meticulous attention to detail and a calm, structured approach under pressure. Leading through influence – able to align and motivate teams towards safe, on-time releases through trust and collaboration, without direct line-management authority. Stakeholder management – proven ability to manage and align diverse stakeholders, including delivery, infrastructure, SRE, service delivery, engineering and business teams. Communication skills – excellent written and verbal communication, able to liaise confidently with technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organisation. AI-first mindset – enthusiasm for and experience using AI tools to do more, with the drive to embed AI ways of working across the release process. Risk & dependency management – ability to identify, communicate and mitigate release risks and manage cross-team and third-party dependencies. Integration awareness – experience coordinating upgrades across integrated and third-party or externally managed products, including API-connected systems. Financial services context – experience delivering in financial services or similarly complex, regulated environments is an advantage; knowledge of mutual funds or transfer agency is a plus. Education and qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience. Demonstrated experience in a Release Manager, Release Engineering, DevOps, or equivalent role responsible for releases in complex enterprise environments – suited to a senior, lead or principal-level practitioner. Practical knowledge of continuous delivery fundamentals is required; hands-on experience building CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy) is highly desirable. Familiarity with a recognised change and release framework is valuable – for example ITIL change enablement, or a scaled-agile release role such as SAFe Release Train Engineer. ITIL, SAFe (e.g. Release Train Engineer) or DevOps/cloud certification is an advantage. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds to enable us to bring diverse perspectives to our thinking and conversation. It's important to us that we strive to have a workforce that is diverse in the widest sense. Thank you for your interest in SS&C! That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
