Junior Estimator

About the role Due to an increased project pipeline, we are seeking a junior Estimator to join our pre-construction team to work directly alongside our Senior Estimator on a variety of commercial projects, including Education, Rail, Industrial, State and Local Government, and Social/Boarding Housing. You will take ownership of your development, learn the functions of various estimating roles, and contribute productively to day-to-day operations. Key responsibilities Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects using estimating software and industry-standard tools Analysing project drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify scope and requirements Researching and sourcing material and labour costs from suppliers and subcontractors Assisting in the compilation of tender submissions and bid documentation Maintaining accurate records and databases of historical cost data and estimating information Supporting the Senior Estimator team with project analysis and feasibility assessments Learning and applying company estimating procedures and methodologies About you Currently completing a degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering or a related discipline (ideally 3rd year) Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail with the ability to work accurately with complex data Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel A genuine interest in the construction industry and a commitment to developing estimating expertise Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Familiarity with estimating software or building information modelling (BIM) is desirable About us Barbro Constructions (NSW) has delivered construction projects throughout NSW for nearly 30 years, with clients across the public and private sectors.
