Job Description — Network Security Engineer Location: Cyberjaya, Malaysia Employment Type: Permanent with Client Experience: 5–7 years Shift: General Notice Period: 30–45 days About the role Client is looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer with a strong background in network security, Cisco networking, and infrastructure protection. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, network monitoring, and security best practices. Key responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions to protect network infrastructure and organizational data. Monitor network traffic and identify unusual or potentially malicious activity. Respond to network security incidents and troubleshoot security-related issues. Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing. Manage and support firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and related security technologies. Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to implement security policies and best practices. Provide technical support and guidance on network security issues. Maintain security documentation, procedures, and incident reports. Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies. Support security compliance, audits, and employee security-awareness initiatives. About you 5–7 years of experience in Network Security Engineering or a closely related role. Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and protocols. Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification — Mandatory. Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, network security technologies, and network monitoring and analysis tools. Strong understanding of network security principles, frameworks, and best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or other security compliance standards (preferred). Understanding of cloud security principles, scripting knowledge in Python or Bash, experience with incident response and forensic analysis, or CCNP, CISSP, or other relevant security certifications (preferred).
