We are currently seeking qualified Traffic Controllers - TTM, TMO and STMS who hold a valid certificate in traffic management to join our client's teams in the Taranaki region. If you are safety conscious, reliable and ready to work in a fast paced on call environment, we would like to hear from you. Get in contact with Jamie via email at jmurray@adecco.co.nz Responsibilities: Direct Traffic - efficiently and safely guiding vehicles and/or pedestrians using stop/slow signs, hand signals and other control devices around the work zones. Traffic Setup and Maintenance - Help install, maintain and remove traffic control systems which includes signage, cones and barriers. Communication- Use of two way radios confidently to stay in contact with the team, emergency services and other crews on site. Public and Site Safety- Monitoring of traffic conditions, identify/minimize risks and respond quicky to maintain a safe environment for all. Public Interaction- Courteously interacting with the public to explain traffic management plan to the drivers and/or pedestrians and handling queries as needed. What We are looking for: Strong verbal and non verbal communication skills. Reliable and punctual. Attention to detail oriented. Good physical stamina as you will be working on your feet in all weather conditions. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Good problem-solving skills. Able to follow instructions and deliver on them in line with safety protocols. To be successful for the role: Must hold a valid TTM, TMO or STMS certificate or NZQA unit standard. Must have reliable transportation. Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Clear MOJ and driving history. Must have the ability to be on call for casual work day/night shifts and weekends.
