About the Role We are seeking an experienced Switchroom Construction Manager to lead the successful construction and assembly of transportable switchrooms. You will be responsible for coordinating people, resources, subcontractors, materials and construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Working closely with Project Delivery, Engineering & Design, Procurement, Manufacturing and Production teams, you will provide strong leadership throughout the construction phase and ensure customer commitments are achieved. Key Responsibilities Construction Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain rolling four-week look-ahead plans. Coordinate labor, materials and subcontractors to meet project requirements. Monitor project progress and proactively identify scheduling and resource risks. Coordinate construction sequencing to optimize workflow and meet delivery milestones. Construction Delivery Oversee the construction and assembly of transportable switchrooms. Manage day-to-day construction activities to ensure safe, efficient and compliant delivery. Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and customer requirements. Resolve construction issues and escalate safety, quality and schedule risks where required . Resource & Subcontractor Management Coordinate internal electrical and mechanical labor resources. Plan and manage subcontractor activities in line with project schedules. Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve scheduling or resource conflicts. Work with Procurement and Manufacturing to ensure materials and fabrication requirements are available when needed. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering & Design to resolve technical and drawing-related issues. Partner with Project Delivery to align construction activities with overall project objectives. Collaborate with Estimating during project handover and provide feedback for future tenders. Liaise with Manufacturing and Production to coordinate fabrication and workshop priorities. Leadership Lead and support the Switchroom Construction team in line with company values. Foster strong collaboration across electrical, mechanical and subcontractor teams. Provide coaching, mentoring and day-to-day support to supervisors and team members. Promote accountability, teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement. Safety, Quality & Compliance Promote a strong safety culture across all construction activities. Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies and procedures. Support quality assurance requirements throughout project delivery. Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and customer requirements. Operational Improvement Identify opportunities to improve construction planning, design and project execution. Drive improvements in productivity, quality and construction methodologies. Capture lessons learned and implement improvements across future projects. Contribute to operational planning and resource optimization. Skills & Experience 10+ years' experience in Switchroom manufacturing, construction or industrial project delivery. Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities. Strong understanding of Switchroom construction and assembly processes. Experience managing subcontractors, resources and construction schedules. Proven experience leading electrical and mechanical trades. Strong planning, problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Customer-facing experience. A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
