Prowood Machinery Ltd is a 100% New Zealand-owned and operated company based in Wairau Valley, Auckland. With over 25 years of experience, we supply, install, service and repair quality woodworking machinery for commercial customers throughout New Zealand. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Machinery Service Technician to join our dedicated and energetic team. This is a varied hands-on role involving electrical and mechanical servicing, fault finding, installation, commissioning and customer training. While previous experience with woodworking machinery is an advantage it is not essential. Key responsibilities Carry out scheduled maintenance and breakdown servicing of industrial machinery Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults Install and commission new machinery Provide machine demonstrations and operator training to customers Complete service work efficiently, safely and to a high standard Provide timely feedback to the Service Department following service jobs Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers Travel throughout the greater Auckland region and, when required, elsewhere in the North Island (1-2 nights/month) About you Experienced in servicing or maintaining industrial machinery Confident with both electrical and mechanical fault finding A strong problem solver with good technical and mechanical aptitude Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently A positive team player with clear and professional communication skills Customer-focused and able to build strong working relationships Committed to health and safety and quality workmanship Detail-focused and willing to continuously learn and develop their skills NZ electrical certification required (full license and/or EST 400-volt) Full clean New Zealand driver's licence required Benefits A varied and interesting hands-on technical role The opportunity to develop your skills across electrical, mechanical and industrial machinery Training and exposure to a range of specialised woodworking machinery A company vehicle for work use A supportive and energetic team environment Excellent working conditions
