As Jacks grow into new technologies, we are looking for more service technicians to join the busy team. Do you have?.... Electrical skills, and preferably an electrical ticket (current practicing licence, Electrician or EST) Mechatronics/engineering background Experience working on machinery A proven track record of job stability and loyalty OR a desire to develop a skill set that will mean no day at work is ever the same ...then we’re keen to talk! We have an opening for an experienced technician from the woodworking or an associated industry. But we know these are a rare breed so if that’s not you, and you’ve got the skills and capacity to learn quickly, we’re still keen to talk. ABOUT US Jacks have been supplying machinery and equipment to the woodworking and allied industries throughout New Zealand for over 80 years. As an independent, NZ-owned and operated business, Jacks represents the world's leading manufacturers from China and Europe. We supply a range of machinery, tools and equipment to support the construction industry across joiners, shop fitters, kitchen manufacturers, builders and timber processing plants, as well as the home workshop. ABOUT THE JOB Right now Jacks are expanding. We have popular range of machines for our market, and are also moving into new technologies. We need more technical experience with our core products (CNCs, edgebanders, classical machinery), as well as new skills in automation, 5-axis machining, robotics, and more. We are looking for an experienced technician that can hit the ground running. Once you've been introduced to our products and ways of doing things, you will be out on the road a significant amount of the time, so the role is very autonomous. With an 80 year history of machinery sales in NZ, there are plenty of machines out there that are important to our customer’s businesses, so are important to us to keep working. You’ll need to be safety focused, curious about how things work, and up for a challenge. You’ll be supported by an experienced team at the office and there will be plenty of colleagues to call on when you hit a problem. The role includes: Installation and commissioning of new machinery Trouble-shooting and repairing machinery breakdowns Operator training Undertaking regular and preventative maintenance Supporting our customers, suppliers and sales team on product and technical issues Other benefits: A forward-thinking, established company looking to grow and expand A stable, family-friendly and supportive work environment An excellent salary, phone, laptop, subsidised uniform and specialist tools plus a fully maintained vehicle for work and personal use KiwiSaver contribution on top of your salary Comprehensive training and long-term career opportunities A hands-on, experienced (ex-tech) Service Manager who understands the business and the issues techs face
