About our role: Gladstone is a special assistance (alternative) school operated by Carinity, serving students from Years 7 to 12 who have found mainstream schooling challenging or unsuitable. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our team, someone who will contribute to our mission of offering individualised learning, restorative relationships, and pathways to hope, engagement and future success. In this role, you will provide high-level assistance to the Principal, predominantly through the leadership of the school staff teams, organising, leading, and maintaining the quality of the schools’ individual casework. Your day-to-day will involve: Leading the school’s wellbeing and case management frameworks to support positive student outcomes Build strong, trusting relationships with students and coordinating individual support strategies to address barriers to learning and engagement Working collaboratively with teachers, youth workers, and external services to provide holistic support and improve student attendance, wellbeing, and achievement Supporting and leading school staff through mentoring, team meetings, professional development and a student-centred approach to service delivery Assisting the Principal with school operations, compliance, and strategic priorities, including deputising when required and overseeing key administrative processes and student records About you: You see the dignity and potential in every young person and approach your work with empathy, patience, and resilience. Always open to learning and growth, you bring curiosity, reflection, and a genuine desire to make a difference every day. In addition, Qualified and hold a current QLD Teachers Registration Significant demonstrated experience in providing education and support to marginalised young people. Knowledge or training in trauma-informed practice, restorative practices or behaviour supports Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising staff to ensure quality service, team spirit, and effective time management of resources within a secondary school environment Strong organisational skills, time management and record keeping Possession of a valid Driver’s Licence Hold a current Blue Card Exemption The benefits of joining the Carinity team We’re part of Carinity, a not-for-profit Christian organisation committed to creating communities where people are loved, accepted and supported to reach their full potential.
