Dairy Technician / Machine Tester

About the role Stocker Solutions is seeking a skilled Dairy Technician / Machine Tester to join our team on a full-time basis in Ashburton, Canterbury. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting dairy processing equipment and machinery. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our clients' dairy operations run smoothly and efficiently, whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety and equipment performance. Key responsibilities Testing and diagnosing faults in dairy equipment Performing routine maintenance and servicing of dairy equipment to ensure optimal performance Installing new dairy machinery and equipment at client sites Providing technical support and guidance to clients on equipment operation and best practices Documenting all work carried out, including test results and maintenance records Identifying potential improvements to equipment performance and reliability Liaising with clients to understand their technical requirements and concerns Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards Responding to emergency call-outs to resolve equipment breakdowns Keeping up to date with developments in dairy technology and industry practices What we're looking for Proven experience working as a technician or machine tester, preferably within the dairy industry or a related field Strong knowledge of dairy equipment and machinery Competence in fault diagnosis, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients Physical fitness and ability to work in varying conditions, including bending, lifting, and working at heights when necessary Valid driving license and willingness to travel to client sites throughout the region Relevant qualifications in engineering or dairy technology (preferred) Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards and food safety compliance Ability to work independently and as part of a team What we offer Stocker Solutions is committed to supporting the professional development and wellbeing of our employees.
