Chair Professor/Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering [Ref. We are now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors/Associate Professors/Professors/Chair Professors (on substantiation-track) in all academic fields with special focuses on One Health, Digital Society, Smart City, Matter, Brain , and related interdisciplinary areas. Candidates must possess a doctorate in their respective field by the time of appointment. **** The Department of Systems Engineering (SYE) aspires to be a centre of excellence in research and education in AI for engineering systems. According to a recent study by Stanford University, eight of our faculty members were among the top 2% of most highly-cited scientists of the world, reflecting the high academic standard of our faculty and our excellent research performance. SYE is in an important transition of “Transforming AI for Engineering Systems”, with the strategic goal of “Advancing the future of industrial AI”, and the education goal of “Training leaders, innovators, and practitioners for AI technology”. SYE is looking for talents in all areas related to systems engineering for industrial AI, including operations research, optimisation, reliability and quality, sustainability, and applications in smart manufacturing, healthcare, and service systems. We are particularly interested in individuals who develop new and creative AI-based approaches to improve the design and operation of future engineering systems. Exceptional young researchers from diverse academic backgrounds with the potential to become world-class scholars and academic leaders will be considered for appointment under the Presidential Assistant Professors Scheme. Successful candidates will receive an attractive and comprehensive package. Duties Conduct high-impact and innovative research, teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise students and undertake scholarly activities (including course development/revamping). The appointees will also be assigned to take up administrative duties to facilitate the development of the Department, the College and the University. Requirements A PhD in systems engineering or related areas with an excellent research record and strong teaching ability. Good academic credentials and excellent communication skills are required.
