Quality Control Manager

Report To : Head of Quality Assurance. Direct Reports : Quality Control, Inspectors, Calibration, Laboratory. Job Summary: • To lead, govern, and continuously enhance the end-to-end Quality Control system, ensuring full compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements, while eliminating quality escapes and protecting the customer. And drive performance improvement (RFT, scrap reduction) across all programs. • This role acts as the technical authority for inspection, laboratory, and calibration systems, ensuring: Measurement integrity, Process capability, Audit readiness, and Zero-defect culture. Duties/ Responsibilities: Quality Control System Leadership • Own and govern the Quality Control framework covering Inspection, Laboratory, and Calibration functions. • Ensure all QC processes are standardized, controlled, and aligned with QMS, AS9100, NADCAP. • Establish robust control mechanisms to prevent quality escapes to customers Laboratory & Calibration Authority • Act as technical owner of laboratory and calibration systems. • Ensure, full traceability of measurement systems, Compliance with calibration standards and intervals, capability and validity of test methods. • Drive measurement system reliability (MSA mindset) and equipment control strategy. • Oversee calibration lifecycle (in-house & external) to ensure 100% on-time & compliant calibration system. • Ensure laboratory processes are continuously improved and audit-ready at all times. Inspection & Product Verification Governance • Define and enforce inspection strategy, including Inspection plans / standards / FAI / FPQ. • Ensure product conformity through robust verification processes. • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) and disposition processes. • Ensure proper segregation and control of non-conforming products. Quality Performance & Improvement • Own and drive RFT (Right First Time), Scrap reduction, Zero escape (internal & external). • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives using RCCA / 8D / 5 Why / Fishbone. • Drive PFMEA and Control Plan effectiveness across processes. • Drive effective MRB management to ensure timely disposition, minimize backlog, and reduce recurrence of non-conformities through robust root cause and corrective actions. Audit, Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure full readiness for customer audits and NADCAP / AS9100 audits. • Partner with Compliance to maintain quality manuals, procedures, and policies. • Monitor and manage NCR / CAR / 8D aging and effectiveness. • Build a strong audit-ready culture across QC functions. People Leadership & Capability Building • Lead and develop multi-functional QC teams: Inspection, Laboratory, Calibration. • Ensure competency, certification, and qualification validity across all roles. • Build strong technical depth within Lab & Calibration teams. • Coach team in quality tools, root cause analysis, and problem-solving. Cross-functional & Customer Interface • Act as primary point of contact for quality-related issues (internal & external). • Support IPTs with engineering & quality expertise. • Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and requirements accurately. Skill & Experiences: BS in Engineering or related field. Having at least 7 years of progressively broadening Manufacturing experience in composite and /or assembly environment. Having experiences in Engineering field and experience in Aerospace industry is a plus. Interacts well and with a high degree of urgency to customers/internal customers, and at all levels within the organization, as well as cross organizations. Strong facilitation skills, conflict resolution, change leadership, coaching, mentoring, and project management skills. Track record of driving improvement with quantified results. Lean experience (Kanban, Value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S/6S, Six Sigma, etc) Strong leadership. Good presentation skills. Positive can-do orientation. Ability to deal effectively with a broad range of personalities. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Full-time onsite working and able to work at AMATA City Rayong.
