About the role To independently drive and oversee the day-to-day operations of the division, ensuring operational efficiency, timely execution of transactions, regulatory compliance and profitability while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers, financial institutions and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities Drive and oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the division to ensure smooth and efficient business operations. Manage procurement, inventory control, logistics and distribution to ensure timely delivery of goods while optimising inventory levels. Develop, implement and continuously improve operational processes, internal controls and best practices to enhance efficiency and profitability. Monitor sales, gross margins and operational performance, taking timely corrective action where necessary. Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, service providers and business partners to secure favourable commercial terms and maintain strong business relationships. Liaise with banks, regulatory authorities and other statutory bodies under the guidance of the Director to facilitate trade finance, banking arrangements, regulatory compliance and other business requirements. Manage import/export documentation, shipping, customs clearance and related international trade processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and Incoterms®. Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and company policies applicable to operations. Prepare operational reports, business performance updates and analytical information for management review and decision-making. Identify opportunities to optimise costs, improve operational efficiency and strengthen business processes and controls. About you Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance or a related discipline from a recognised university. Professional qualifications such as CIPS, CILT, CIMA, ACCA, CPA Singapore or internationally recognised trade finance certifications (e.g. CDCS or CTFP) will be an added advantage. Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in international, import/export, commercial operations, supply chain or a similar business environment. Strong knowledge of international trade practices, including Incoterms®, shipping documentation, customs procedures and trade compliance requirements. Practical experience in trade finance, including Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Bank Guarantees and international payment mechanisms. Familiarity with Singapore's business and regulatory environment, including interactions with banks, Singapore Customs and other statutory authorities. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to independently manage operational matters and make sound business decisions with minimal supervision. Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage suppliers, customers, financial institutions and regulatory bodies. High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar platforms.
