Overview Our client, a reputable financial institution, is seeking a hands-on System Engineer to support and enhance its mission-critical infrastructure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations, infrastructure maintenance, incident resolution and technology improvement across Windows, Linux, virtualisation, storage and backup platforms. Key Responsibilities Own the operational health, availability and performance of Windows and Linux server environments. Administer and enhance Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Exchange and WSUS. Provide hands-on production support for enterprise Linux servers, including troubleshooting, patching, performance tuning and root-cause analysis. Support VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualisation platforms, storage, backup and disaster-recovery solutions. Drive infrastructure upgrades, patching, technology refresh and continuous-improvement initiatives under established change-management procedures. Partner with IT Security to remediate vulnerabilities, strengthen system security and support compliance requirements within a regulated environment. Support hybrid connectivity between on-premise infrastructure and cloud services. Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and infrastructure standards. Participate in a roster-based on-call arrangement and scheduled after-hours maintenance to support critical services. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline. At least 5 years of relevant experience in system administration, infrastructure operations or production support. Banking or financial-services experience is preferred; candidates from insurance, telecommunications, data-centre, MSP or large enterprise environments will also be considered. Solid, hands-on experience supporting Windows core infrastructure, including Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, WSUS and server patch management. Proven production support experience in Linux server administration, preferably Red Hat or other enterprise Linux distributions. Hands-on experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V, storage, backup and disaster recovery solutions is essential. Exposure to Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, cloud platforms, Ansible or Terraform would be an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a production environment. Good communication skills in English and Chinese; (both Cantonese and Mandarin are required). Willingness to participate in on-call support and occasional after-hours maintenance.
