Client Details The organisation operates in the financial services industry in Hong Kong. Description Provide application support and maintenance for in-house and vendor solutions across the APAC region Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions Design, develop, test, deploy, and enhance Java, Python, or Perl applications Investigate production incidents and deliver timely resolutions or workarounds Support day-to-day business operations through troubleshooting and user assistance Improve monitoring capabilities and optimise operational processes Work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and platform enhancements Contribute to project implementation including design reviews, UAT, and production releases Conduct code reviews and promote development best practices Manage source control, build, and deployment activities using Git and CI/CD tools Support Agile delivery initiatives and continuous improvement activities Participate in on-call support rotation and occasional weekend deployments Profile Degree holder in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines Minimum 3 years of software development experience Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or Perl Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment Hands-on knowledge of Linux/Unix platforms and shell scripting Familiarity with Git and build/deployment tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo Understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, and release management Basic knowledge of infrastructure components including networking and operating systems Exposure to financial services, trading, or clearing systems is advantageous Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills with the ability to engage business users effectively Able to work independently and collaborate within regional teams Experience working in Agile or other project delivery methodologies Job Offer Competitive contract package with potential extension opportunities Regional exposure within a global financial services organisation Collaborative environment offering both development and application support experience If this Java/Python Developer role in Hong Kong aligns with your skills, we encourage you to apply.
