Key Responsibilities Define and execute the strategy, vision, and roadmap for data engineering, and analytics, ensuring alignment with company objectives and cross-functional goals. Build and nurture strong relationships with business stakeholders and teams across the enterprise to gather requirements and drive adoption of data products. Lead planning, including technology strategy, budgeting, and prioritization for Data Management and Analytics, and contribute to enterprise-wide product initiatives. Provide leadership to cross-functional teams, guiding both people and technology aspects to deliver impactful data solutions. Champion analytics products and initiatives, supporting the Citizen Data Scientists program to enable data-driven decision-making in shipping, logistics, and port operations. Collaborate with development teams to deliver robust data pipelines for analytics and machine learning solutions. Work closely with product owners, application development leads, vendors, and cross-functional teams to implement solutions that fulfill enterprise needs. Oversee product design for all data engineering activities related to the data platform, including data pipelines, data lakes, domain layers, and business layers. Ensure efficient day-to-day product delivery for the data platform, leading initiatives to enhance performance, system stability, scalability, security, and resilience. Key Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the shipping industry or a related field, including at least 5 years in data and analytics product management or leadership roles. Expertise in strategic planning, project management, and vendor management within data and analytics product environments. Strong familiarity with business processes and data models in the maritime industry, covering shipping, logistics, and port operations. Proven track record in managing organizational change and driving process improvements. Experience managing and collaborating with cross-office and cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of current data and analytics technologies and market trends. Excellent skills in presenting abstract data concepts, storytelling, and translating analytical insights into actionable business outcomes. Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas: Experience with end-user analytics platforms such as Tableau, Spotfire, and Power BI. Experience with data storage tools and platforms including Spark, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, and Amazon S3. Experience with data integration solutions such as Kafka and Nifi. Ability to thrive under pressure, work independently, deliver high-quality results, and drive change in a fast-paced environment.
