The Head of IT is responsible for defining and executing the organisation's IT strategy, technology roadmap, and digital transformation initiatives. This role will lead the integration of the Business Support System (BSS) and Operational Support System (OSS) platforms while ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise IT infrastructure and applications. The position is accountable for OSS transformation programmes, IT project management, IT operations, desktop management, cybersecurity, server and cloud infrastructure, GIS platforms, governance, and vendor management to support business growth, service assurance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities 1. IT Strategy & Technology Roadmap · Develop and maintain a 3-5 year IT and Digital Transformation Roadmap aligned with business objectives. · Define enterprise architecture and integration strategy across OSS, BSS, GIS, and corporate systems. · Recommend emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. 2. OSS-BSS Integration & Transformation · Lead the planning, implementation, and optimisation of OSS and BSS platforms. · Develop integration architecture between OSS & BSS · Ensure end-to-end service visibility from customer order through service activation and assurance. · Manage system vendors, solution architects, and project teams throughout the implementation lifecycle. 3. Project Portfolio Management Office (IT PMO) Establish and manage the IT Project Management Office. 4. IT Infrastructure & Operations · Oversee multiple IT and digital transformation projects. · Develop project governance, reporting mechanisms, risk management, and budget controls. · Ensure projects are delivered within scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements. · Oversee enterprise servers, storage, backup, virtualisation, and cloud environments. · Ensure high availability and business continuity of critical systems. · Manage capacity planning, performance monitoring, and infrastructure upgrades. 5. Cybersecurity & Compliance · Develop and enforce cybersecurity frameworks and controls. · Lead vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response. · Ensure compliance with regulations · Manage security audits, risk assessments, and remediation programmes. 6. Desktop & End User Computing Management · Lead desktop, laptop, mobile device, and endpoint management. · Manage software licensing and asset lifecycle management. · Ensure efficient service desk support and user satisfaction. · Standardise productivity and collaboration platforms. 7. GIS Platform Management · Serve as a key liaison between operations and other business units, partners, and regulators. · Represent the company in strategic discussions with clients, vendors, and industry bodies. · Provide regular updates to the CEO and Board on operational performance and risks. 8. Vendor & Contract Management · Manage relationships with software vendors, system integrators, cloud providers, and managed service partners. · Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and support agreements. · Monitor vendor performance and project deliverables. 9. Leadership & Team Development · Build and lead a high-performing IT organisation. · Define departmental objectives, KPIs, and development plans. · Foster innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team. · Develop succession planning and technical capability roadmaps. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, GIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline. Master’s Degree in an added advantage. Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years in Head of Department position. Experience in leading OSS/BSS transformation, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and enterprise application projects within telecommunications, fibre infrastructure, ISP, digital infrastructure or related industries. Ideal Candidate Profile Strong understanding of OSS, BSS and Enterprise Architecture. Experience in managing large-scale technology transformation programmes Strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Cloud Services, Data Centres, Networking and Cybersecurity. Knowledge of ISO 27001, ITIL and IT Governance frameworks. Strong project management, vendor management and contract negotiation skills. Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Experience in system integrating. Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, Microsoft Azure or AWS are preferred. Start Date: Urgent hiring!
