Head of Dealing (Securities Firm) $70K - $90K

Our client, a well-known investment bank in Hong Kong, is looking for a high calibre to join the group. Responsibilities Lead and oversee the dealing function, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant execution of client and proprietary trades. Manage daily trading activities across relevant markets, including order execution, trade allocation, position monitoring, and post-trade processes. Develop and implement execution strategies to achieve best execution, optimize transaction costs, and improve trading efficiency. Work closely with Institutional Sales, Research, Portfolio Management, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams to support client needs and business objectives. Maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, brokers, banks, exchanges, and other market participants. Monitor market liquidity, trading conditions, and regulatory developments to enhance execution capabilities. Provide market insights, liquidity analysis, and trading recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients. Lead, coach, and develop the dealing team, establishing strong trading processes, controls, and operational standards. Ensure all dealing activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management guidelines. Support the enhancement of trading systems, workflows, and execution infrastructure to improve desk performance. Review trading performance metrics, including execution quality, market impact, and cost analysis, and implement improvements where necessary. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business, or related disciplines. Minimum 8 years of experience in dealing, trading, sales trading, or execution roles within a securities firm, investment bank, or financial institution. Proven experience managing a dealing desk or leading a trading team. Strong knowledge of equity markets, trading mechanisms, execution strategies, and market structure. Experience in institutional trading, block trades, algorithmic execution, and cross-border transactions is preferred. Strong network and relationships with institutional clients, brokers, and market participants. Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements and trading compliance standards. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure capital markets environment. Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or relevant securities licenses are preferred. Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin preferred) is an advantage. Preferred Background Candidates with experience in institutional dealing, sales trading, execution trading, or trading desk management from leading securities firms, investment banks, or brokerage houses are highly preferred.
