Position: Safety Officer Job Summary The Safety Staff is responsible for supporting occupational health and safety activities within automotive manufacturing operations. This role focuses on daily safety implementation, compliance with company and customer requirements, and supporting a safe working environment on the shop floor. Shop-Floor Safety Support Conduct daily safety inspections in production areas and report unsafe conditions. Support risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for production and maintenance activities. Assist in machine safety activities, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and guarding inspections. Incident & Corrective Action Support Support incident and near-miss investigations and assist in identifying root causes. Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure. Maintain incident records and safety performance data. Training & Safety Awareness Support safety training programs for employees and contractors. Assist in organizing safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and safety meetings. Promote safety awareness and safe work practices on the shop floor. Audit & Customer Support Support internal safety audits and customer audits related to safety requirements. Prepare safety documents and evidence for customer and certification audits (e.g., IATF 16949). Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams on safety matters. Prepare basic safety reports and summaries for supervisors and management. Support other safety-related tasks as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in safety or EHS roles in manufacturing or automotive environments (fresh graduates may be considered). Basic knowledge of manufacturing safety, machine safety, and workplace hazards. Familiar with local safety regulations and basic customer requirements in the automotive industry. Able to communicate in English at a basic working level. Good teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
