We have 2 locations on offer - Zillmere and Sunshine Coast. AFL Queensland is home to over 200,000 participants, including those in the Northern Rivers region. Offering pathways from the introductory NAB AFL Auskick program to the AFL Masters Competition. AFL Queensland supports football at all levels, fostering growth and participation across the state. Full-time employment 1-year full time traineeship with salary Fully funded qualification Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation Employment support from a dedicated Employment Coach and mentor for First Nations candidates Gain hands-on experience with AFL Queensland's Game Development team Build a network of industry contact About the Role The Participation and Programs Trainee will assist in the delivery and promotion of AFL programs. This includes but is not limited to NAB AFL Auskick, NAB AFL Superkick, AFL Nines, School Programs and Competitions, as well as Community Football. The role plays an important part in ensuring these programs are delivered to a high standard and continue to grow participation in the game. What You’ll Do Assist in the delivery and promotion of AFL programs, events and competitions. Maintain program databases and provide general administrative support. Support logistics, including the setup and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to the broader Participation and Programs team to ensure consistent outcomes. Assist with promotions and initiatives that drive program engagement and awareness. What We’re Looking For Enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn. To succeed in this traineeship, you will have: Good communication, time management and organisational skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities A commitment to delivering quality programs and services The ability to work independently and as part of a team A genuine interest in sport, recreation and community engagement Essential Requirements Current Driver Licence and reliable vehicle Employee Working with Children Check/Blue Card (or ability to obtain one) Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required What You’ll Receive National Training Wage from $28,600 – $44,200 plus 12% Superannuation A fully funded Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation Valuable experience in the sports industry This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers Don’t miss this opportunity to kick-start your career in sport!
