Contract Industrial Electrician

About the role An Industrial Electrical contractor engagement on a two year contract with the right of renewal. The contract offers 32-40 hours of work per week, with flexibility to schedule those hours around other client commitments. Extended hours will be offered from time to time and the opportunity to participate in an agreed after-hours on-call roster, typically one week in two. This is an opportunity for an adaptable, practical Industrial Electrician to work alongside an Engineering team that is practical, proud of their innovations and Electrical expertise and aspire to high standards. Key responsibilities Installing new equipment PLC and HMI fault-finding Working with drives, motors, industrial controls Breakdown response Preventative maintenance Work unsupervised on site Maintain competency in trade skills and basic safety management Support Winter and Christmas shuts About you Current EWRB Electrician registration and New Zealand practicing licence appropriate to the work You will be an independent contractor with your own vehicle, tools, PPE and mobile phone. You will carry you own public liability insurance and pay all your required taxes to IRD. New Zealand Drivers licence Proactive maintenance mindset Confident when working on PLC and HMI controlled equipment Efficient Time Management Skills Excellent problem-solving skills Legal right to work in New Zealand for the duration of the contract and beyond Experience with Allen Bradley, PLC programming and DC motors/drives (ideal) Practical problem solving skills, ability to think laterally and multitask About us Stratex is a highly regarded well established flexible packaging manufacturing company located near Sylvia Park, Mt Wellington. It is a relatively modern, complex, high speed manufacturing operation utilising plant that has been significantly modified/upgraded to produce products to exploit new market opportunities.
