The Head of IT oversees the full spectrum of the company’s IT functions, including infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, applications support, and vendor management. This role is responsible for planning and executing the company’s IT strategy and digital transformation roadmap, ensuring strong system performance, data security, and operational efficiency. The incumbent also leads the IT team, manages key technology projects, and ensures compliance with industry regulations and ISO requirements. 1.IT Strategy & Planning Own and maintain a rolling 2 to 3 year’s IT roadmap and digital transformation initiatives. Align IT strategy with business strategy, operational scalability and governance requirements to improve efficiency, productivity, data security, and compliances. Identify opportunities for automation, system upgrades, and process improvements. Standardise IT architecture and policies across all subsidiaries and factories. 2. IT Infrastructure & Operations Management Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of company IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud systems, telecommunications). Ensure high availability of IT infrastructure (i.e. servers, networks, cloud, interfaces)across all company locations. Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans. 3. Cybersecurity & Compliance Act as the risk owner for IT, cybersecurity and system availability, accountable for prevention, response, and remediation of material incidents. Implement and monitor cybersecurity policies and best practices to safeguard company data. Perform regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk mitigation activities. Ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. 4. System Administration & Applications Support Oversee the maintenance and performance of business applications (e.g., SAP/ERP, Microsoft 365, and email server). Act as Group system owner and manage system access, user authorizations, and security roles. Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders for system upgrades or troubleshooting. Ensure data accuracy, system controls and segregation of duties in line with audit and compliance expectations. 5. IT Support & Helpdesk Management Lead the IT support team in providing timely resolution to IT issues across the company. Oversee IT service delivery, helpdesk performance, and SLA compliance. Develop SLAs and implement service metrics (uptime, response time, resolution rate) to ensure service performance and quality. Ensure end-user productivity and minimal business disruption. Provide user training on new systems, software, or IT policies. 6. Vendor & Procurement Management Lead IT vendor selection, contract negotiation and performance management. Evaluate and manage IT vendors, service providers, and contractors. Oversee procurement of IT equipment, licenses, and services. Manage IT operating budget and capex proposals. Drive cost optimisation without compromising system integrity and security. 7. Leadership & Team Management Lead and develop the IT team through coaching, training, and performance management. Manage IT workload distribution and project execution. Define clear roles, KPIs and succession planning within IT. Foster a strong service-oriented culture of accountability, security awareness, and continuous improvement within the IT department. 8. Project & Stakeholder Management Plan, lead, and execute IT-related projects (new systems, hardware refresh, cybersecurity implementation). Manage timelines, budgets, resources, and stakeholder communication. Act as the point of accountability for IT matters to management. Present IT risks, initiatives, and performance updates to Management. Translate technical issues into business-impact language. 9. Authority & Decision Rights Approve IT operational decision within approved budget and authority limit. Escalate material risks, cybersecurity incidents, and system failures directly to management. Recommend technology investments and system changes. Accountable for IT performance outcomes, including system uptime, cybersecurity posture, audit findings and cost efficiency.
