Finance Manager

We are exclusively partnering with a respected national organisation that makes a positive difference across New Zealand’s communities and businesses. This is an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to lead a capable finance team and provide trusted commercial and financial guidance across the organisation. Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services, you will take ownership of the full finance function. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role spanning financial reporting, operational finance, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, compliance and business partnering. The opportunity You will: Lead, develop and motivate the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting for the Board, leadership team and budget managers Manage monthly and year-end reporting, financial statements and the external audit Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger integrity and cash-flow management Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes Provide insightful analysis, modelling and practical financial advice to support sound decision-making Partner with managers to strengthen financial understanding and improve performance Oversee pricing and ensure products and services are appropriately costed Maintain effective financial systems, processes, controls and policies Manage tax and regulatory obligations Build strong relationships with auditors, banking partners, advisers and other key stakeholders About you You will be a commercially astute and collaborative finance leader who can operate strategically while remaining comfortable with the detail. You communicate complex financial information clearly, build credibility quickly and bring sound judgement to competing priorities. You will also bring: A Chartered Accountancy qualification and membership of CA ANZ, or an equivalent professional body At least 10 years’ experience in financial management, including oversight of operational finance functions Proven experience leading, developing and motivating finance professionals Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analytical capability Broad knowledge of relevant accounting legislation, regulation and professional practice Excellent business-partnering and stakeholder-management skills Experience handling confidential, payroll and commercially sensitive information A practical, customer-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement This is a rewarding opportunity to lead a broad finance function, influence organisational decision-making and contribute to work with a meaningful impact across New Zealand.
