Blue Sky Nursery is a busy wholesale nursery supplying both the landscape and retail markets based in North Arm on the Sunshine Coast. We require Nursery Hands to assist our busy Production and Propagation teams. All positions will be based on the Sunshine Coast at North Arm. The Nursery Hands (multiple positions) will ideally have proven industry experience or horticultural knowledge, however this is not a limiting factor if the individual can rapidly acquire such knowledge. All applicants MUST BE PERMANENT AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS. Key position requirements: · Good knowledge of general nursery plant species grown within industry · Good knowledge of production tasks including propagation, potting, fertilizing, plant care, weeding, staking, watering and maintenance. · Good knowledge of propagation techniques such as growing by seed, cuttings, division and deflasking of tissue culture. · The ability to achieve production KPI's and quality control targets. · The ability to work as part of a team or individually. · Ability to follow direction. · Physically fit - the role can require long periods of standing and being active for most of the day. · The ability to work in all weather conditions such as heat, cold and rain. · A Cert. 3 in Horticulture or above is beneficial but not essential. · An understanding of AS 2303:2015 /NATSPEC would be highly regarded but not essential. All positions will become full time after a successful 3 month casual probation and based on a 38 hour week. Work hours are Monday to Thursday 6.30 to 3.10 and Fridays 6.30 to 12.40. These hours include a 20 minute morning tea break and a 30 minute lunch break. The rate of pay will be determined by the successful applicant/s level of skill as per the national Nursery Award. Applicants for all positions must have their own transport.
