Position Overview As a Senior Security Technician, you will undertake a variety of tasks relating to maintaining and installing access control, CCTV, alarm and other electronic security systems for a variety of government and commercial clients across Auckland. You will repair faults for a range of state-of-the-art security equipment including CCTV cameras, alarm systems, motion sensors and secure phone lines. To be considered for this role, you must have knowledge of basic electronics principles, including the diagnosis and repair of electrical faults and an understanding of basic networking. Operational Duties and Responsibilities Install, maintain and repair access control, CCTV, alarm and other electronic security systems. Read technical diagrams and blueprints. Run tests to check for faults, and collect and analyze the data. Evaluates, diagnoses, and troubleshoots systems and performs repairs as necessary. Keep records of the faults they find, and the repairs or maintenance they carry out. Performing site inspections and discussing requirements with clients. Determining equipment and configuration to be used in installation. Providing quotes and estimates to clients. Routing cables through buildings including through roof spaces, under floors and through cavity walls. Connecting alarm systems to phone lines and internet connections. Mounting, calibrating and programming equipment. Testing equipment and diagnosing and repairing faults. Completing installation documentation and following established procedures. Connecting equipment to mains power. Completion all relevant reports and documentation as per authorized procedures and processes Ensure full accountability to all stock, equipment and plant belonging to the Trak Group of companies. Qualifications and Experience For the successful applicant we offer a positive working environment and a competitive remuneration package. You will need a full NZ driver's license and must have working rights in New Zealand. Minimum of 3 years related technical experience with security, surveillance, and alarm systems, including computer networking experience. Must have experience in installing and maintaining access control systems (Gallagher, Protégé, Integrity) Must have a minimum of 3 years in installing and maintaining CCTV systems (Panasonic, Geutebruck, Axis, Vivotek, Milestone) IQP certification preferred, not essential To apply upload a copy of your resume here.
