What you’ll do : Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure using services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and others to support scalable and secure applications. Setup, configure, and maintain VPN services for secure and encrypted communication between remote teams and the AWS infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security best practices. Monitor AWS infrastructure and services using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and security. Implement and manage containerized applications using AWS ECS, EKS, and Docker. Ensure security best practices are followed, including managing IAM roles, policies, and conducting regular security audits. Optimize AWS resources for cost management and auto-scaling, implementing AWS Auto Scaling groups, Elastic Load Balancers, and Lambda for serverless computing. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in AWS environments during development, testing, and production. Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with AWS infrastructure. Write and maintain documentation for AWS infrastructure, deployment processes, and systems architecture. Recommend and introduce new tools and features that can improve cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, VPN security, and overall development workflows. Join us if you : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 1 - 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS Cloud Services. Strong proficiency with AWS services, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, VPC, and IAM. Proficiency in VPN installation, configuration, and management, including open-source or AWS-based VPN solutions. Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, AWS ECS, EKS). Strong understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, security groups, and VPC. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, or third-party solutions (Datadog, Prometheus). Obtained AWS Certification(s) such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional is a plus. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
