About the Role The Challenge Be the driving force behind the reliability and performance of business-critical applications. You'll solve technical issues, minimize downtime, and help ensure seamless operations for key business systems. What You Will Do Key Responsibilities Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise applications to ensure optimal availability and performance. Investigate and resolve application incidents, problems, and service requests within agreed service levels. Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues. Collaborate with development teams on bug fixes, enhancements, deployments, and application upgrades. Support incident management activities, maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards. Who We Are Looking For Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL. Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages such as Shell or Python. Familiarity with ITIL processes, Agile methodologies, and application support practices. Understanding of Java/.NET applications, middleware technologies, API integrations, and web services. Skills and Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, service-focused environment. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
