Diesel Motor Mechanic

About the role We are looking for an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic for a permanent full-time position. You will be guaranteed 40 hours per week. The usual hours for work will be between 4:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday to Saturday, however, you will be available to undertake on call duties as required. Key responsibilities Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives Comply with vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs Manage callout roster as required Demonstrate work rate ability to get the job done in a reasonable time Maintain a positive attitude to teamwork and responsiveness to Workshop Manager instructions About you You must hold trade and technical qualifications You must have a minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience Must hold a NZ class 2 license or the ability to obtain while on the job Available to undertake on call duties as required Follow all H&E Safety policies & processes at all times Benefits Competitive hourly rate Training opportunities throughout your employment Working for an international global multi-modal company with internal opportunities Gender diverse and multi-cultural workplace Professional culture where you feel valued About us Howick & Eastern Buses by Transdev is an international multi-modal company based in East Tamaki, Auckland with a staff of 300 and a larger Diesel and Electrical vehicle base.
