Pomelo is the leading online fashion platform in South East Asia. Driven by technology and backed by fashion and technology investors from across the world, our mission is to digitize fashion retail through our unique omnichannel model. Through digital content, livestream, in store experiences, social media and advertising campaigns, our team of international in house creatives constantly push boundaries to wow our customers. Pomelo is looking for a full-time Retail Store Design and Development Director to join our Team. As a member, you will be working closely with Senior Management and Third-party contractors to support design and technical tasks in continuously developing and implementing Pomelo omni-channel retail stores in the region. The Director or of Store Development provides strategic leadership across all aspects of retail store design, construction, and experience. This role sets the vision for how our brand lives in physical space — owning the end-to-end development lifecycle from concept to post-opening, while leading cross-functional teams and ensuring every store delivers on brand, budget, and business performance. Responsibilities: Define and own the long-term store development strategy, translating brand vision into scalable physical retail concepts across all formats and markets. Lead, mentor, and grow the Store Development team — building team capability and succession depth. Act as the senior escalation point and key decision-maker across all store development projects, timelines, and stakeholder conflicts. Own and govern the full capital expenditure budget for store openings, refits, and post-opening programs — driving efficiency without compromising brand or experience standards. Partner with C-suite and VP-level leaders (Retail, Brand, Finance, Operations) to align store development priorities with company-wide goals and growth plans. Establish and enforce design standards, guidelines, and quality benchmarks that ensure consistency across the entire store portfolio. Lead strategic vendor relationships with contractors, architects, landlords, and material suppliers — negotiating at a portfolio level to unlock commercial advantage. Champion customer experience as a strategic lever — driving data-informed decisions around layout, flow, fixture placement, and sales-per-sqm productivity. Lead innovation in store design by identifying emerging retail trends, materials, and technologies and piloting new concepts ahead of broader rollout. Collaborate with Visual Merchandising, Product, and Marketing to ensure store environments powerfully amplify product and brand storytelling. Build and maintain frameworks for project governance, post-opening review, and continuous improvement across the store estate. Report regularly to executive leadership on portfolio status, pipeline health, budget performance, and strategic risks. Qualifications: 6+ years in retail store development, architecture, or design with at least 4 years at a leadership level Proven track record delivering multi-market store rollouts on time and within capex targets Experience managing and developing high-performing cross-functional teams Background in fashion, lifestyle, or premium retail strongly preferred Skills & competencies: Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into executable plans Strong commercial acumen with experience owning significant capex budgets Have excellent time management skills, with high attention to details and deliver within the set deadlines and budget. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator). Experience with basic 3D modeling programs will be highly considered. Proficient in AutoCAD, V-Ray rendering, Sketchup. Ability to execute construction drawings. Deep knowledge of materials, construction methods, and retail fixtures Able to understand and analyze floor plans, design specs and support IT integration. Take ownership of your work, be proactive, enthusiastic and passionate about design, aesthetics and current retail design trends. Excellent negotiation skills required. Strong verbal and written communication skills in Thai and English. Required Materials for Application: Resume/CV Portfolio (in PDF Format)
