Junior IT & Systems Development Executive

ABOUT THE ROLE Inno Asia Distribution Sdn. Bhd. is developing a new evidence-based health membership and e-commerce platform. We are looking for a motivated Junior IT & Systems Development Executive to support the development, testing, integration, and maintenance of this platform. You will work closely with our experienced Digital Project Lead, who will provide practical guidance and training. This is a hands-on development role suitable for a fresh graduate or junior candidate who has a basic foundation in programming and wants to gain real-world experience in backend systems, databases, APIs, AI-assisted development, and e-commerce technology. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Assist with the development and maintenance of the website and supporting systems. · Review and test code to identify errors, bugs, and areas for improvement. · Assist with setting up and maintaining databases. · Support API connections between the website and third-party systems. · Help integrate e-commerce, membership, rewards, subscription, payment, delivery, CRM, and other business systems. · Test integrations to ensure information is transferred accurately between systems. · Assist with user acceptance testing before new features are released. · Document system configurations, API connections, workflows, changes, and test results. · Investigate basic technical problems and work with the project lead to resolve them. · Monitor system performance and report technical issues promptly. · Support data checking, backups, access controls, and basic system security practices. · Use approved AI development tools, such as Claude or similar platforms, to assist with coding, research, testing, and documentation. · Verify AI-generated code before it is used in the live system. · Coordinate with internal staff, designers, software developers, and external technology providers when required. · Learn new tools and technical skills as the website platform develops. REQUIREMENTS · Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Web Development, or a related field. · Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. · Basic knowledge of programming or web-development concepts. · Basic understanding of databases, APIs, and how different systems exchange information. · Familiarity with at least one programming language or web technology. · Able to perform basic code checking, testing, debugging, and documentation. · Willing to learn unfamiliar platforms and technologies. · Careful, systematic, and comfortable solving technical problems. · Able to communicate clearly and work closely with both technical and non-technical team members. · Responsible when handling company systems, credentials, and customer information. · Good written and spoken English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage. ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS Experience or exposure in any of the following will be helpful but is not compulsory: · JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, PHP, or similar languages · HTML and CSS · SQL and relational databases · REST APIs, JSON, and webhooks · Git or other version-control tools · Shopify or other e-commerce platforms · Customer relationship management systems · Payment-gateway or logistics integrations · Cloud platforms and deployment processes · AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot · Basic cybersecurity, data privacy, and access-control practices · Automated testing or software quality assurance WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Under the guidance of the Digital Project Lead, you will receive practical exposure to: · Backend system fundamentals · Code review and testing · Database setup and management · API and third-party platform integration · E-commerce and membership-system development · AI-assisted development workflows · Technical documentation · Troubleshooting and quality assurance · Building and maintaining a real commercial digital platform WHO SHOULD APPLY This position is suitable for someone who: · Wants to build a career in software, systems integration, or digital-platform development. · Enjoys understanding how websites and business systems work behind the scenes. · Has completed personal, academic, internship, or freelance technology projects. · Is willing to learn from a senior team member and apply feedback. · Takes initiative instead of waiting for every task to be explained. · Understands that AI tools support development but do not replace careful checking and sound judgement.
