The Opportunity: We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to support multiple Howden entities across New Zealand, with a focus on operational finance. This role plays a pivotal part in month-end processes, regulatory reporting, financial forecasting, and supporting improvement initiatives and business integration projects. Key responsibilities include: Manage month-end journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with budgets, forecasts, statutory accounts, and regulatory returns (FBT, GST, Payroll Tax, etc.) Prepare and review key financial management reports with actionable insights for business leaders Assist with IBA tasks if need be - facilitating BDX payments, broker settlements, and intercompany transactions, providing assistance with broker inquiries, and debtor’s management Involved in the finance improvement initiatives and integration projects with re business acquisitions. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and support audits Collaborate across teams to enhance systems, controls, and operational efficiencies Liaising with IRD and other regulatory bodies when required and attend to internal and external audit requests Let’s talk about you: 5–6 years' experience in accounting, with strong expertise in tax CA or CPA qualified, with a Bachelor's in Accounting, Business or related field Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment Proficiency in financial systems, Excel, and general ledger functions A team-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and professional integrity Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines Remuneration and Benefits In addition to competitive remuneration, we also offer free salary continuance insurance and life insurance.
