TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE – AUTOMOTIVE REFINISH Wholesale Paint Group (WPG) Cairns, QLD Please note - we are looking for a Sales Representative to join our team in Cairns, North Queensland, Australia Wholesale Paint Group is one of Australia’s fastest-growing automotive refinish distributors, proudly representing leading global brands including Glasurit, Baslac, DeBeer, Sherwin-Williams, 3M and more. You’re not just selling paint, you will be helping workshops perform at their best. We’re looking for a driven, customer-focused Technical Sales Representative to take ownership of our North Queensland region, grow market share, and deliver real commercial impact. This is a role for someone who wants autonomy, variety, and the chance to genuinely shape outcomes for customers and their own career. About the Role A field-based role where you’ll act as a trusted advisor and business partner to collision repair centres across the region. You will: Take ownership of an established territory across Cairns and surrounds Grow the region by identifying and winning new business Build strong, long-term relationships with workshop owners and decision-makers Provide technical product advice and tailored solutions Work with supplier reps on demonstrations, training, and product rollouts Plan and manage your own customer visit schedule Drive market share and customer loyalty Support equipment installations and product conversions Work closely with internal teams to ensure great service and outcomes About You You’re self-driven, accountable, and enjoy being out in the field building relationships. Ideally you have: Experience in automotive refinish, paint, panel, or collision repair Sales or account management experience (preferred but not essential) Strong communication and relationship-building skills A proactive, organised, and independent mindset Ability to work autonomously while being part of a team Current Driver’s Licence Basic Microsoft Office skills Trade-qualified spray painters or panel beaters looking to move into a sales career are strongly encouraged to apply.
