Title : Youth Residential Care Worker Location: Brisbane QLD Specifically but not limited to : Morayfield, Redcliffe, Kallangur Caboolture, Bongaree, Ningi, Woorim, Deception Bay, Northlakes, Burpengary, Brackenridge. Priority Hire is currently seeking compassionate, resilient and dedicated Youth Residential Care Workers to support children and young people living in residential care homes across Brisbane. About the Role As a Youth Residential Care Worker, you'll provide day-to-day support to children and young people in a residential care setting, helping them develop independence, build positive relationships and achieve their goals. Duties include : Providing therapeutic support in a home-like environment Assisting with daily living activities and life skills Building positive, professional relationships with young people Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Transporting young people to school, appointments and community activities Administering medication where required and appropriately trained Completing case notes, progress reports and incident documentation Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders Maintaining a safe, supportive and nurturing environment About You To be successful in this role, you'll have: A genuine passion for supporting children and young people Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends, sleepovers, active nights and public holidays Essential Requirements Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services or a related qualification (or currently studying a relevant qualification) Current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check) Current Queensland Driver Licence Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain) Current First Aid and CPR Full Australian working rights Highly Regarded Experience working within: Residential Youth Care Child Protection Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) Disability Support Mental Health Trauma-informed care Challenging behaviours and crisis intervention Additional training such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), PART, MAPA, CPI or Mental Health First Aid will be highly regarded.
