Transportation Section Manager

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Transportation Section Manager to join S.Khonkaen Foods Public Company Limited in our warehousing, storage and distribution operations. This is a full-time position based in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, Thailand. As Transportation Section Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our transportation and logistics operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods whilst maintaining safety standards and cost-effectiveness. This role is pivotal to our supply chain success and directly impacts our ability to deliver products to customers on time and in optimal condition. Key responsibilities: Plan, coordinate and manage daily transportation operations, including route optimisation and vehicle scheduling Supervise and lead the transportation team, including drivers and logistics coordinators, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all fleet vehicles are in optimal working condition Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards and government requirements Manage transportation costs and budgets, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements Coordinate with warehouse operations and sales teams to ensure seamless logistics execution Track and monitor shipments in real-time, resolving any delays or issues that arise Maintain detailed records of transportation activities, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the transportation section Conduct safety training and ensure the team maintains high safety standards during all operations Analyse transportation data and prepare reports for senior management on operational performance Manage relationships with external logistics partners and vendors as required Job Requirements: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in transportation management or logistics operations Proven track record of successfully managing a transportation team and fleet operations Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards and compliance requirements in Thailand Proficiency in logistics management systems and transportation planning software Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong leadership and team management capabilities with proven ability to motivate and develop staff Problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills under pressure Knowledge of fuel management, vehicle maintenance and fleet optimisation Experience in cost control and budget management within transportation operations Good communication skills in Thai and preferably English Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent professional experience) Valid driver's license and familiarity with Thai road transportation networks Preferred: Experience in food or FMCG distribution; Knowledge of cold chain logistics or temperature-controlled transport; Experience with GPS tracking and fleet management systems
