Experienced Excavator / Materials Handler Operator – Scrap Metal Industry Super Metal Recycling 📍 Dandenong South, VIC 🕒 Full-Time | Day Shift | Overtime Available About the role Due to continued growth, Super Metal Recycling is seeking an experienced Excavator / Materials Handler Operator with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the scrap metal industry . This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for a confident, skilled operator who understands scrap processing, material separation, and working safely in a fast-paced metal recycling yard. You will play a key role in maintaining efficient yard flow and safe site operations. Key responsibilities Operate excavators and materials handlers fitted with grabs Sort and process scrap metal materials Manage stockpile organisation and yard flow Conduct daily machine pre-start checks Follow all safety procedures and site compliance requirements Work closely with yard team to maintain productivity Essential requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience in the scrap metal industry (essential) Proven experience operating excavators/material handlers with grabs Strong understanding of scrap grades and material separation Relevant machinery tickets / licences Strong safety awareness Reliable with solid work history Ability to work in a busy, high-volume yard environment Applicants without scrap metal industry experience will not be considered.
